Mr. 3000

I cant think of a better way to kickoff the new blog then the amazing story of Jeter finally hitting 3000 this weekend. Not only did he hit 3,000 hits but he did so with a home run! Only his 3rd of the season! I was watching this game on my TV and after he hit number 2,999 I immediately hit the DVR to record this milestone. I must have watched this hit 15 times. I had goosebumps going up and down my spine.

But maybe even a bigger surprise then Jeter hitting his 3000th hit with a home run was the guy who caught it giving the ball back.  I would love to say that I would hand it over to Jeter like Christian Lopez did but at the same time, Mark McGwire's 70th HR ball was sold for an astounding $3 Million.  With that said, I believe I would sell it, and build a statue of Jeter in my front yard out of respect and enjoy the lifetime box seats I buy myself after the sale!  Would you have sold it?
